Scott laid his first floor at nineteen, on his knees in a drafty farmhouse, learning from a man who had done it for forty years. Three decades later, the tools are better and the crew is bigger — but the standard hasn't moved an inch.
Polish Test Heating started the way a lot of good things do: one person who couldn't stand shortcuts. Floors that bounced, seams that gapped, "finished" jobs that looked tired within a year — Scott saw enough of them to know exactly the kind of company he didn't want to run.
So he built the opposite. Every board is hand-selected for grain and colour. Every subfloor is levelled until it's dead flat, because a beautiful floor on a bad base is just a problem waiting to surface. And every job ends the same way it starts: with a walk-through, in person, until the customer is genuinely happy.
